19/06/2013 – Miniclick & NP20 in Hackney
We’re very pleased to have been invited by Newport’s BA documentary photography course to help them put on a night at The Attic in Hackney Picture House, London focusing on the theme of “emerging talent”.
Instead of focusing on their own work, this year’s graduates have chosen to open up the floor and put on a night that combines a series of short talks from photographers who have, at one stage or another, been handed the label ‘emerging’ and a panel discussion to debate the meaning of the term.
Miniclick have curated the short talks (as we did in Liverpool for LOOK/13) and Miniclick founder, Jim Stephenson, will also chair the panel discussion afterward. The panel discussion features Olivier Laurent (BJP), Jon Levy (FOTO8), Rachel Segal Hamilton (Ideas Tap) and photographer Jo Metson Scott. ‘The Miniclick Shorts’, the short talks, will feature Jocelyn Allen, Jo Metson Scott, Sam A Harris, Alex Catt and Jordi Ruiz Cirera.
The Attic, Hackney Picture House, London. Wednesday 19th June 2013. Free entry (doors open 18.30, event starts 19.30). More info on NP20′s website.
20/06/2013 – Jim Naughten
After working with Brighton University for events in April and May, and traveling to Liverpool for LOOK/13, normal service is resumed in June with a talk at The Old Market from one of our favourite photographers, Jim Naughten.
The Miniclick team have been talking about Jim’s work for some time now, so we’re really pleased to have him coming to Brighton for what is sure to be a great evening. Thursday June 20th, 7pm (doors at 6pm). Free Entry at The Old Market.
